A circus as imagined in a childhood dream. An intimate circus tent surrounded by authentic caravans. As soon as you enter the chapiteau through the richly decorated entrance, you forget everything for a moment. Inside, an exciting circus adventure unfolds for the whole family. During the performance, Douwe van Oven goes in search of the top hat, moustache and coat of his ringmaster grandfather. Along the way he meets a gaggle of strange circus characters, such as the agile juggler, the strong acrobat, the oriental fakir, and the mysterious magician, all of whom show spectacular circus tricks. ‘De Sleutel van het Circus’ was made with the support of the Fonds Podiumkunsten [Performing Arts Fund NL].

Practical information
De Sleutel van het Circus is a 45-minute family performance that can be performed twice a day in its own circus tent or in the open air. There is also a 30-minute festival performance, which can be performed 3 times a day. Circusdrome’s own circus tent has grandstand seating for 150 people.
